About

Hi, I’m Cassandra

I’m a Georgia Peach living near Atlanta, with a love for food that does the body good. I love eating good food, traveling, walking trails and spending time with my family.

On Cooked By Cass you’ll discover many familiar eats and some not so familiar but they all are delicious and good for the body. I also share lots of cooking videos, and healthy eating tips. You’re going to want to subscribe to my free newsletter too.

My first cooking video was published around 2020 but I have been cooking since the early 90’s.

If you ever need to get in touch, email me at cookedbycass@gmail.com. And be sure to follow me on social media @cookedbycass

a lil’ more about me:

I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I have loved food for as long as I can remember. I was an avid snacker but also loved a well seasoned meal with an arnold palmer. My Mother, a true food lover and fabulous cook, kept me by her side in the kitchen for hours sharing nigerian traditions and also her take on the western recipes that she began to embrace. Those were the days!

Fast forward several decades I’m still playing with food, letting my imagination run wild and perfecting my plating skills. I have taken that zeal for delicious food with me throught my life and I’m so glad that I get to share that with you.

Although most of the food I grew up eating was fresh and homemade, I took a different approach when it came to snacking. I would happily stuff my face with pop tarts, store-bought treats (Chewy Chips Ahoy and fudge rounds were my faves), capri-sun, and Chik-fil-a.

I discovered healthier post college, and haven’t looked back since. Now my whole life revolves around healthy plant-based food that makes me feel happy, energetic, and well nourished.

I started eating healthy because I had a minor health scare that at the time wasn’t major but it could be if my eating habits did not change. Fried food and large portions of meat are common in the south but for this Georgia peach it does me no good.  Since embarking on my majority plant based journey my health or happiness have greatly improved. You might not have a medical reason yet for making a change but you don’t have to wait.

Since I’ve started eating plant based these things have happened:

  • I discovered a new, exciting, and lucrative path sharing my creations with you all
  • I’ve become friends with the more like minded people
  • My binge eating has ceased
  • My skin is clearer and glowing
  • My fatigue is disappearing
